How do I get started?

Getting started with KMH is simple. Begin by filling out our contact form or giving us a call. We’ll discuss your needs, answer any questions, and our client-care coordinator will match you with a therapist who’s a great fit and help you schedule your first session.

Step 1: Reach out. Complete the short “Request an Appointment” form or call our office. A caring client-care coordinator will respond within one business day.

Step 2: Personalized match. Based on your goals—individual therapy, couples and marriage counseling, family therapy, ADHD and executive functioning coaching, LGBTQ+ affirming counseling, or integrative psychiatry—we pair you with a licensed clinician whose specialties and schedule align with yours. Evening and weekend appointments are available. We’ll also answer questions about insurance, fees, and our online therapy and virtual counseling options. Many clients skip this step and go straight to scheduling.

Step 3: Secure paperwork. You’ll receive easy digital intake forms and consent documents. Completing them beforehand keeps your first session focused on connection rather than clipboards.

Step 4 (optional): Brief consult if you’re unsure. If you are unsure if the selected therapist may be a fit, you may choose an optional 15-minute phone consult to talk through your goals (anxiety and stress management, depression counseling, postpartum mental health, trauma and PTSD therapy, or support for your teen). Many clients skip this step and go straight to a first session.

Step 5: First session. Meet your therapist in our tranquil office or via HIPAA-secure video. Together you’ll set clear objectives and choose evidence-based approaches such as CBT, EMDR, or mindfulness-based holistic mental health care.

Step 6: Ongoing support. You’ll receive practical tools, progress check-ins, and optional add-ons like life coaching and personal development workshops or corporate wellness programs for your team.
